With a 20-year track record, this leadership development firm has evolved from helping organisations retain and advance women to supporting inclusive workplace cultures at scale. Its services include live coaching, mentoring, and increasingly, digital platforms designed to expand access and impact.

Project:
As part of its digital evolution, the team set out to expand its suite of online tools by exploring the potential of AI—specifically, the development of a conversational assistant powered by generative AI. The goal was to improve the coaching experience for coachees, while building internal momentum around this innovative direction.

Challenge:
The idea of a conversational assistant was ambitious but needed internal support to move forward. With no budget for dedicated user research and limited time, the team had to rely on their own digital expertise and best practices to define and validate the concept. Building buy-in across stakeholders was essential, particularly without a working product in hand.

Solution:
Through a series of iterative workshops, the team defined the assistant’s role within the broader platform and translated key coaching challenges into viable, AI-powered solutions—such as conversation support, content recommendations, and personalised guidance. The team clarified interaction flows and designed natural, useful conversation logic to ensure a seamless user experience. Drawing on UX principles, visual benchmarking, and expanded brand guidelines, they structured coaching content and toolkit access to support the assistant’s functionality.

Outcome:
The project delivered a high-fidelity prototype centred on a core topic—Powerful Presence and Impact—showcasing key capabilities like question refinement, intelligent content suggestions, real-time feedback. It laid strong UX foundations for a future AI-powered coaching experience and helped secure internal buy-in for continued development. The working prototype gave stakeholders a tangible sense of the assistant’s potential, leading to business case approval and advancing the team’s vision of more personalised, scalable digital coaching.
